Make it law that any cyclist using the UK Public Highways has insurance

What the petition asks
I want the government to make it law that any cyclist using the UK public highways has insurance to do so to fall in line with other road users.
The government has recently changed many rules within the highway code to make it what they call safer for cyclists. Some of the rules have been made seemingly without proper consultation and the new rules will put many drivers at extra risk of collision with cyclists. Driving an HGV means that on many occasions during certain turns or manoeuvres cyclists will be placed in a blind spot with the them believing they are safe, this is still possible despite all the cameras and sensors.
