Install lights and cameras by the Winter Garden car parking spaces.

Rejected 9 signatures

What the petition asks

The Winter Garden rear parking area is vital for the public and employees around Margate.
We are calling on Thanet District Council to install lights and cameras to try and deter offenders who have been targeting parked cars down there without risk of being caught, and causing serious damage.
Thanet Council have repeatedly ignored the needs of the public along where hospital workers, members of the public, police officers, tourists and dog walkers park. Along this strip is vital parking as Margate is already hugely struggling with parking.
Recently, damage to vehicles, thefts from vehicles and drug dealing has increased in the area as there are no lights and no cameras in the area to deter would-be offenders.
People work all day, to return to damaged vehicles and missing items.
