Sort the country's finances out by scrapping the high speed train hs2

What the petition asks
Spend taxpayers money on things that benefit everyone not just some.
The high speed train hs2 costs a fortune (over £100 billion) whilst only benefitting some of the population. When the cost of living is in crisis we must prioritise where taxpayers money goes and spend it on things that help everyone, such as cutting VAT on gas/electric, social care, NHS etc. This would avoid having to increase national insurance contributions and make life easier for millions of working class people, not just some.
