Stop the energy rebate

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

It’s not a rebate, it’s an illegal loan.

My daughter plans to move out of home, and into her own place, in the next 5 years. Meaning she will pay back a ‘loan’ she never receives.

It’s a loan we don’t want, and don’t seem able to opt out of. Making it illegal, because we don’t consent.
We might not be able to afford the rise in fuel costs, but we definitely can’t afford to pay for that rise, along with repaying a loan we never asked for.

This is not a rebate, because we have to pay it back. It is also not a loan, because we are not consenting to it.

Some people like my daughter, will never have the loan, but will still have to pay money back. This will cause unnecessary debt, and needs to stop.
