Raise national pay to £20.00 per hr as the cost of living is increasing.

Rejected 10 signatures

What the petition asks

We the people feel it is necessarily that the public get a national pay rise of £20 per hr to help with the dramatic increasing amounts of homes and food price rises. This will encourage people to get jobs and help those in need who are barely scraping the barrel.
We feel that the national pay we get now is not enough to support our modern day living needs, a £20 pay increase could help the younger generation afford housing and bills without struggling to live or worry about being late on bills because of a sudden change in prices. An increase this large will help people enjoy the life they have without feeling stressed 24/7.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise. The Government aren't responsible for setting salaries for most jobs.

We could accept a petition calling for the National Minimum Wage to be increased to or by £20/hr if that's something you'd like to see happen.
