What the petition asks

Make it mandatory for schools across the UK to install bidet showers / sprayers in toilets giving children who prefer to wash up access to such facilities.

My child, who is in reception, is unable to wash up after using the toilet in school. Installing bidet showers will give my child access to a hygiene concept we believe in and follow at home. Installing bidet showers in no way compels anyone who doesn’t want t use them to use them. It only gives children who do clean with water the opportunity to do so. I’m a country as diverse as the the UK, this seems like something that should’ve already been thought of.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

We can only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.

The UK Government is only responsible for schools in England, not across the whole UK. We could accept a petition calling on the Government to require schools in England to install bidets in school toilets.
