Bring back the Education Maintenance Allowance for eligible students in England
Closed

What the petition asks
With covid-19 affecting student incomes, many are not able to afford crucial educational resources that they need to complete their courses, or even travel to get to school. Bringing back the Education Maintenance Allowance could help ensure eligible students can engage fully with their studies.
It is unfair to expect students to complete exams to the best of their ability and to apply to university without the finances to get sufficient supplies/resources. Reinstating this allowance could help level the playing field, and help more young people obtain better jobs, and so help decrease unemployment.
We believe bringing back the EMA in England will help students flourish and thus the future of Britain will be brighter.
