Overhaul the Adult Social Care System

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

Cap fees, Bring self-funding fees in line with state funded fees, More specialist Dementia Care Beds, Overhaul of CQC procedures, More accountability, Stiffer penalties for poor care and care practices. CEO's and directors of care companies prosecuted for neglect in line with H&S legislation.
Many family members are not receiving the care they deserve from care homes charging exorbitant fees. They are also being let down by the system designed to protect them i.e. CQC, Adult Social Services. CEO's are simply transferring wealth from the poor to their own pockets aided by the social care system. Fees should be capped. The law needs to be reformed to make directors culpable for neglect and abuse happening in their establishments. The system is broken and urgently needs fixing.

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We understand you would like to see changes to the adult social care system, but we're not sure exactly what specific actions you'd like the Government or Parliament to take.

If you are not sure of specific changes that you would like to see happen, you could start a new petition calling for a review of the adult social care system. Or you could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
