What the petition asks
I would like the Government to get Local Councils to man phone lines like they used to pre covid. The website cannot handle certain queries. For complicated queries, we need to speak to someone in council departments. Councils must not use Covid as an excuse to avoid providing services.
The recycling bins for the flats i live in were supposed to be collected weekly. This was suddenly changed to 2 weekly without informing us. The bins were overflowing. Website couldn't deal with this so i called the council. I was told can't speak to anyone. This is ridiculous. How are you supposed to get this resolved? Public are paying for a service which isn't being provided and councils cannot hide behind Covid and use it as an excuse so public can't get in touch.
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
