Increase safety regulations for HGV drivers during weather warnings

What the petition asks
Make regulations to restrict HgV's driving in high winds. Companies putting deliveries before the safety of drivers!
Friday 18th February we had Red and Amber weather warnings with a risk to life. Companies were still sending out Clsss 1 and 2 Drivers in those High winds to do non essential deliveries.
These risked those drivers lives along with other people's. These weather warnings are going to become more and more. Lots of lorries were involved in accidents and ended up on their side causing injury and hold ups. Sending out drivers in winds excess of 70mph is nothing short of dangerous.

Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We understand that you want the Government to introduce new rules regarding HGVs during bad weather, but we're not sure exactly what rules you'd like the Government to introduce.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
