What the petition asks
GP still not seeing patients.Aand E covering for them,as people left with no other alternative but to go there for treatment.
If you are lucky even enough to get your call answerd, you still are only offered phone consultation, after giving your personal symptoms to receptionist, who are not medically trained, I now know of many people who have had to present at a/e,and have been told if they hadn't been seen, the situation could have been a lot worse, thank goodness for doctors on duty at a/e.It is time for GP s to do what they are paid for.
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
There are no Government restrictions that prevent GPs from holding face-to-face appointments. Decisions relating to GP appointments, including decisions on whether face-to-face appointments are appropriate, are operational matters for the NHS and individual GPs, not the UK Government or Parliament.
