Do not make student loans contingent on past grades

What the petition asks
Many students, especially those with learning disabilities, don't receive the support they need in school to attain good grades. Penalising students who do not achieve certain grades by barring them from student loans is totally unfair. Many will not otherwise be able to afford to go to university.
If the Government proceeds with these proposals this would punish students with learning disabilities.
The Government must ensure adequate consideration is given to students with disabilities. Many disabilities are hidden or not discovered. If there was more support from secondary schools for these pupils this would not be such an issue, but in the current situation this change would be unacceptable.
