Make it illegal for people to hit cats and drive off without reporting

What the petition asks
Cats are much loved pets and should be treated the same as dogs if they are heartbreakingly hit by a car. I’ve witnessed someone tonight hit a cat and drive off and left the poor baby writhing in the street. Two of us tried to help but nothing could be done.
Because cats are much loved pets and if reported at least the owners are able to know what’s happened to their pet. They should be treated the same as dogs.
