Seek to negotiate peace in Ukraine without sanctions or military action

What the petition asks
We want the Government to try and negotiate an immediate ceasefire in Ukraine, and facilitate peace talks, without the use of sanctions or military force.
Military intervention by the UK or by Western allies in Ukraine could cause the war to escalate killing thousands or millions of people in Ukraine and in other countries.
Sanctions will affect civilians, in Russia and in the UK, who have nothing to do with this conflict.
War is never the solution. All the efforts of the UK Government should go towards negotiating a peaceful solution in the interest of the Ukrainian and of the British people.
