What the petition asks
The UK Government should immediately lift restrictions on visa and asylum applications for Ukrainians displaced by the current invasion establish a programme settle them and their families for as long as is required
The UK government currently offer no safe and legal routes for Ukrainians fleeing conflict to seek sanctuary in the UK if they do not have settled family here or are immediate family of a British national
At least 100,000 people have already been forced to flee the country for fear of violence with this increasing to potentially 5 million in the coming months.
In a recent YouGov Poll the majority of British people of all political persuasions support the UK offering this help in time of need.
