UK to provide humanitarian visas for those fleeing war in Ukraine.
Rejected

What the petition asks
The UK should provide safe passage that would enable people fleeing the war in Ukraine to travel to the UK.
This could be done by either claiming asylum on arrival or by having access to humanitarian visas.
This could be done by either claiming asylum on arrival or by having access to humanitarian visas.
At the moment, people from Ukraine would only be able to apply for either a family migration visa or the standard visitor visa - none of which are appropriate given the invasion and war it is facing.
Other countries have opened their borders to support people from Ukraine but despite citizens in the UK ready to host and support Ukrainian nationals and others fleeing the war, the UK government has failed to update its visa policies to accommodate Ukraine's current situation.
