We want the Government to tackle the issue of gender inequality of pay in sport.

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

We want the Government to tackle the issue of gender inequality of pay in sport by enforcing the laws and allowing Women and Men to reach the same level of pay in the UK. Currently in Football men earn on average £3 million each year and women earn only up to £18,000 a year.
I believe it is unfair and due to the Equality Act 2010 this issue should not exist today

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

We understand you're concerned about pay inequality in sport, however it's not clear what you want the Government to do to "tackle" this issue. Enforcement of existing laws is a matter for the police and the courts, not the UK Government or Parliament.

You could have a petition calling for a review of pay inequality in sport, if that is something you'd like to see happen.
