Reduce citizenship fees for children

What the petition asks
The Government should reduce the cost of citizenship fees for children, which is currently £1,012.
People who are entitled to British citizenship should not face barriers in the form of unreasonable costs for the formalities of gaining citizenship.
Being unable to afford to apply for British citizenship can create significant practical barriers for children, such as having to apply for visas when they go on school trips. It can also mean some children in a family might have British citizenship, while others don’t. Non-British nationals can also face deportation if they commit criminal offences.
The Government must remove the barrier of excessive fees for children to apply to be British citizens.
