Increase funding for existing and new youth clubs

What the petition asks
The Government should direct additional funding to local authorities for youth services. Closure of youth clubs has been linked to increased youth violence, and increasing funding for these services could help protect children's future.
Poverty and inequalities in the UK are real, but also greatly hidden and misunderstood.
Employment opportunities and positive role models are scarce. As we edge closer to post-pandemic, the effects of Covid-19 still remain. Young people were one of groups most disadvantaged by the pandemic. From school closures, to minimal social interaction in formative years, to a lack of resources for lower income households. Directing funding to youth services is a vital first step.
