What the petition asks
Introduce laws to prevent corruption and wrongdoing in parliament and those in power.
Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We understand that you're concerned about corruption and wrongdoing, but we're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.
There is already a Ministerial Code, that sets out the standards of conduct expected of ministers and how they discharge their duties, and a Code of Conduct for MPs, that sets out the standards of behaviour expected of Members of Parliament as they carry out their work.
You can read the Ministerial Code here: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/ministerial-code
And you can find out more about the Code of Conduct for MPs here: https://www.parliament.uk/site-information/glossary/code-of-conduct-for-mps/
We can accept petitions calling for changes to the Ministerial Code or Code of Conduct for MPs, but it would need to be clear what change you want.
