What the petition asks
Clause 11 allows for people granted protection in the UK to be given
different rights and entitlements, depending on the nature of their arrival to
the UK. We urge the Government to scrap the Clause, which could be used to penalise those who need our help the most.
different rights and entitlements, depending on the nature of their arrival to
the UK. We urge the Government to scrap the Clause, which could be used to penalise those who need our help the most.
Clause 11 of the Bill would create a two-tier system where someone who was forced to take a dangerous journey to seek safety and did not have appropriate documentation could be treated differently from those who do, even if they are originating from the same area of conflict or persecution.
