What the petition asks

Allow parents access to nursery setting, even if this is staggered and intermittently.

Children that joined nursery in 2020 will be the only kids to fully suffer this loss. Having gone 2 years with no parent access to nursery. Those that joined primary school in august 2021 had parent engagement in their first nursery year (2019/20) and they have suffered massively in their first year of primary
Those who joined nursery 2021 have another year to hope for parent engagement.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

There are no legal restrictions preventing parents from accessing nursery settings, so decisions about whether parents can access these settings is a matter for individual nurseries, not the UK Government or Parliament.
