Change SEG to divert excess self generated energy to those who need it.

What the petition asks
Many are in fuel poverty and yet many generate their own energy at home. Excess is sold to energy provides at very low rates via the SEG (5p/kWh) and resold back by them at much higher rates, (35p/kWh). This needs to change.
Morally this is questionable as many are facing stark choices between energy and food. There is also an element of Energy Security as it places more reliance on the world energy markets.
We should be looking to help those in need and address our own future energy use. It is not an ‘Energy Crisis’, it’s a Usage Crisis.

Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action. We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.
We understand you're concerned about fuel poverty, but we're not sure what changes you want to the SEG in order to divert energy to households in the way your petition asks for.
