Make Graduate Visa Count Towards Settlement

What the petition asks
The new Graduate route opened in July 2021. However, this route does not count towards settlement. We call on the Government to make the graduate route count towards settlement in UK.
It is unfair to grant the scheme but deny students to gain rights to settlement through this scheme, especially in light of unprecedented impact of COVID-19 on securing new jobs, which might lead to visas that do count towards settlement.
The UK Government have set out an ambition to increase education exports to £35 billion and the number of international higher education students in the UK to 600,000 by 2030. It appears this route is all about making studying in the UK more attractive, and not really about enabling international students to stay in the UK. Please make the route count towards settlement.
