Invest in coal, oil, gas and nuclear to help achieve energy independence

What the petition asks
To help maintain global supply following Russian sanctions but to ensure energy independence medium term, the Government should invest immediately in reopening oil and gas fields in the North Sea and elsewhere, coalfields, and nuclear power plants.
Whilst we should continue to invest in reducing need for oil and gas we have to accept we are not there yet.
This should help ensure our short and medium term energy independence whilst we continue to invest in sustainable, but independent, alternatives.
Support for nuclear energy would help the whole country be electrically powered through cheap, clean fuel to help ensure a clean and independent future.
