Ban on smoking and develop a strategy for vaping

Rejected 11 signatures

What the petition asks

We are calling on the UK Government to impose an outright ban on smoking and develop a public health strategy for vaping. We are now calling for a radical approach by the UK Government to ban smoking completely and develop a strategy for vaping that will transform the health of the nation.
The Pandemic has triggered an increase in smoking rates, the public health problem has been compounded by funding cuts for NHS stop smoking services and local support groups. Alarmingly the country has lost significant momentum in this huge public health opportunity and there is a genuine fear that we will miss the nation’s 2034 smoking free target.

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We understand that you want the Government to ban smoking, but we're not sure what you want the Government's strategy for vaping to set out to achieve. It's not clear if you want this to support smokers to move to vaping, or to try and stop people from vaping.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
