What the petition asks
I want the government to ban this practice. Charities should receive 100% of Gift Aid
Prevent third party private companies from taking control of GIFT AID
that is applied to charitable donations.
Traditionally the donor applied gift aid by ticking a box and the charity received 100% of the added gift aid.
These private companies muscle in and take control of applying gift aid to all future donations - THEY DEDUCT 5% of the gift aid for themselves - leaving the charity (Where donors want 100% of their money to go) short.
It is quite easy to tick a box "Apply Gift Aid" (Always has been) Absolutely no need for this scheme - which IMHO is a racket

Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
It is a matter for charities to decide whether or not to use third parties to help manage donations including gift aid. The Government doesn't have responsibility over how charities and third parties manage their Gift Aid arrangements.
