What the petition asks

Use any accounts, funds or assets seized under the sanctions of Russian oligarchs to subsidise the cost of VAT to the consumer on petrol and diesel at the pumps bringing down the cost of fuel..

It is due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine which is driving up the cost of fuel so let THEM pay for it instead of small businesses like my own driving school having to suffer the increasing cost of fuel.

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

We understand that you're concerned about the price of fuel, but the Government has only frozen the assets of people sanctioned under the UK’s sanctions regime relating to Russia, so there is no revenue from these that can be used by the Government to subsidise the cost of fuel.
