Repeal the Climate Change Act 2008

What the petition asks
We believe the Act deters the UK energy market from investing in medium and long term hydrocarbon based energy solutions. Until the UK has non hydrocarbon energy security there should not be any legislation or legislative duty targeting carbon usage.
We believe the current policy has prematurely curtailed gas investment, exacerbating the impact of international prices and the actions of unstable and dangerous regimes on the UK. This has contributed to massive price rises, leading to increased fuel poverty. We believe it has also greatly reduced the competitiveness of British businesses and reduced the freedom of manoeuvre for UK government responding to Russia.
