Stop schools restricting pupils access to toilet facilities.

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

Stop schools from restricting access toilet facilities, if a child needs to go to the toilet they should be allowed to. Blanket measures like locking toilets during lesson time is impacting all children instead of dealing with the minority who abuse them.
Our children should have the right to visit the toilet when needed. Schools are implementing policies that are detrimental to our children's continence and mental health. Despite guidance from both Healthcare organisations and The National Union of Teachers to not restrict toilet access schools are implementing policies that do, such has locking toilets.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise.

This is a matter for individual schools and teachers. Decisions on policies regarding when students can leave the classroom are a matter for individual schools, not the UK Government or House of Commons.
