Petition · past parliament

Change the law, so that UK citizens can force an immediate General Election.

Rejected 14 signatures

What the petition asks

Citizens should be able to hold the government to account at all times, not just during General Elections. The law needs to be changed so that a petition of 'no confidence' to parliament, containing the signatures of at least 51% of the population means a General Election can be called immediately.
Change the law, so that UK citizens can force a General Election. At present a vote of no confidence can only be called by parliament, leaving this majority government in an untouchable position that repeatedly breaks promises & makes decisions that are slowly destroying the country.
