Bring Charges on Tamar Bridge for locals inline with Dartford xing. £20 pa.

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

To level us up Down here, like they are saying they are doing across the country.
Even with the concessionaire tag at £1 per crossing the average local working 5 days a week in Plymouth 48 weeks a year pays £240.
Where as it is now free on other bridges and locals at Dartford only pay £20 per year for as many crossings as they want.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

The operation of, and tolls charged for, crossing the Tamar Bridge are matters for the Tamar Bridge and Torpoint Ferry Joint Committee. This Committee is made up of councillors from each of the two Joint Authorities, Plymouth City Council and Cornwall Council. This means the UK Government is not directly responsible for the action this petition calls for.

You could start a petition on the Cornwall Council website asking them to take this action. You can find out how to do this here: https://www.cornwall.gov.uk/the-council-and-democracy/campaigns-consultations-and-petitions/petitions/.

You could also raise your issue with a local councillor who represents you. You can find out who your local councillors are, and how to contact them, by entering your post code here:
