Introduce UK wide laws to permit motorcycles to ride in bus lanes

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

Parliament should exempt motorcycles across the UK so that they can ride in bus lanes. It should not be left to local authorities to introduce piecemeal changes as such exemption should apply to whole of UK for motorcycles on public safety grounds and making better utilisation of bus lanes.
Better public safety and better utilisation of transport infrastructure, plus reduction of harmful environmental emissions caused by traffic queues.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

Restrictions on the types of vehicles that can use particular lanes, including bus lanes, are a matter for individual local authorities, not the Government or House of Commons.

If you want your local authority to permit motorcycles to be able to use all bus lanes in your locality you should raise this with your local authority or local councillor.
