What the petition asks

To keep Channel 4 in public ownership. Chancel 4 does not cost the taxpayer anything to run but provides a vibrant and different route for unique programming. Public ownership will maintain Channel 4’s ability to invest in UK programming and ensure its output is not diluted by shareholders.
To keep Channel 4 in public ownership OR provide a detailed case for why public ownership is ‘holding Channel 4 back’ as alleged and offer a free House of Commons vote on the matter.
