Changes to vehicle taxification class from N1 (LGV) to M1 (PLG).

Rejected 10 signatures

What the petition asks

Allow the changes to vehicle taxification class from N1 light goods vehicle (LGV) to M1 private light goods vehicle (PLG)
Lots of the British public use light goods vehicles (LGV) for private use (PLG), but the current system does not allow the taxification class to be changed. As a PLG registered vehicle it would aid better / correct insurance cover.

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

We understand that you are concerned about barriers to changing a vehicle's tax class, but there doesn't appear to be a rule preventing a change from class N1 to M1. There are different requirements for being classed as N1 or M1, which means that not all vehicles classed as N1 will necessarily be able to be changed to an M1 class. We could accept a petition calling on the Government to change the requirements for these tax classes, so that any vehicle classed as N1 would be eligible to be changed to M1.
