Do not send asylum seekers arriving in the UK to Rwanda
Rejected
11 signatures
What the petition asks
Oppose Priti Patel's deal with the Rwandan government allowing the UK to send asylum seekers arriving in the UK to Rwanda, which is a plan to effectively offshore people seeking asylum to Rwanda, treating them as human cargo to be shipped thousands of miles away - out of sight and out of mind.
1. It evades the UK's international obligations and lacks adequate safeguards to ensure protection of vulnerable people fleeing war, conflict and persecution
2. There are concerns about Rwanda's human rights record
3. Similar schemes have proved expensive and ineffective
