What the petition asks
Rwanda, under President Kagame, has come under significant criticism for human rights abuses. It's record on asylum seekers is poor, The scheme will cost billions and be ineffective. It's a unrealistic, expensive and inhumane option.
Parliament should prevent this wrong-headed and cruel scheme from going ahead, and call on the Government to develop legal means for asylum seekers to come to this country as a matter of urgency.
