What the petition asks
Current rules with DWP mean that children are reassessed and moved from DLA to PIP at 16 years old.
At this age they are still legally children, in full time education or training and yet the government move them onto an adult benefit.
EHCP’s and child benefit are extended past the age of 16.

In the assessment for PIP 16 year olds are unable to meet criteria as they are not at an age where they are expected to complete adult tasks.
The government need to re-evaluate at which age children are capable of being assessed for an adult benefit and change the age from 16 years old to at least 18 years old.
