Introduce a legal minimum requirement for hamster cages.

What the petition asks
The government needs to introduce minimum legal requirements for hamster cages to stop pet shops and other retailers from being able to sell inadequate, unsuitable cages. Hamsters need a bare minimum of 4000cm2 and many pet shops sell cages much much smaller than this causing unnecessary suffering.
So many retailers sell unsuitable cages for hamsters which means these hamsters then live in unethical, stressful conditions for their whole life while big companies profit off of the neglect of these animals. The UK has laws in place for the welfare of most other animals so why not hamsters and other rodents?
