Cyclists should have insurance to cycle on the road.

What the petition asks
I want parliament to discuss whether cyclists should have insurance to cycle on a public highway, just the same as every other road user must have.
I want parliament to put in place a law that states that if cyclists want to use a public highway, they should be fully insured.
Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
We're not sure if you want Parliament to debate whether cyclists should have insurance, or the Government to introduce a law requiring them to do so.
In any case, we already have a petition open calling for a very similar action, which you might like to sign:
Require cyclists have lights, license plate and insurance to use the roads: Require cyclists have lights, license plate and insurance to use the roads
