Stop excluding refugees caring for children of friends who remain in Ukraine.

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

Millions have fled the war in Ukraine. Amongst them are people entrusted as carers for children of friends who were unable to leave. The government has excluded these vulnerable groups from entering the UK.

Safeguarding these children is paramount. They must be allowed to enter the UK.
Many families are unable to leave Ukraine, for lots of different reasons. Some have asked trusted friends to keep their children safe.

This poses some child protection issues for the visa agency. But excluding these families from applying is not the answer.

The UK government must stop excluding these groups from the Homes for Ukraine scheme so that they can be welcomed by the many people waiting to open their homes to them.

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do to change the scheme. We're not sure if you'd like non-Ukranian nationals to be eligible for the scheme, or if you want something different.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
