What the petition asks
The government should launch a full and public enquiry into the failings of Her Majesty’s Passport Office. The enquiry should look into full, the activity and the lack of processing of passport applications since April 2021.
Over the past 18 months, Her Majesty’s Passport Office have been advising 10 week processing teams up by double the previous processing time of 5 weeks. Abi Tierney (Director-General) has failed to put adequate steps into place to stop the failings that are currently going on.
At the stage of writing this petition, there are applications outstanding from January, February and March, yet passports being submitted in April and a May are being processed in a matter of two weeks
