Base Child Benefit High Income Charge on household income and local wages

What the petition asks
We want the Government to change this charge so it is based on total household income - rather than a single wage - and is in line with average wages for the area.
The charge currently applies to any family in receipt of Child Benefit, where one person earns over £50,000 a year.
We want this to change so that it is based on the total household income, not a individual's salary, and reflects average pay in a locality.
This should better ensure that the charge only affects households that have above average earnings in their area, and not just one person with a salary of over £50,000.
