Make self-defence classes a necessity in schools, colleges and universities.

What the petition asks
To enforce this throughout the UK.
As male on female attacks are on the increase, I feel women should be given the tools to be able to defend themselves against a male attacker. Provide them with the chance of breaking free from an attack and more importantly an awareness of their surroundings. This will give them the confidence when out in public as most women fear for their safety when alone.
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise. The Government and responsible for the content of courses at universities and some colleges.
We could accept a petition calling for self defence to be included in the National Curriculum, if that's something you'd like to see happen.
