Local social housing to be given to local residents has priority

Rejected 9 signatures

What the petition asks

Prioritize families within a community for social housing
Myself and my daughter are being evicted from our private rented home after almost 14 years with ties to the community for work and school in GCSE years unfortunately any local social housing is being given to others from outside the area and we are expected to move out of our home village? Please help us correct this situation and give local houses to local people

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

We're sorry to read about your situation.

We can't accept your petition because decisions about social housing are a matter for individual local governments, and not the Government or House of Commons.

You could raise this with a local councillor, who represents you. You can use this page to find out who your local councillors are, and how to contact them:

You could also contact your local MP. You can find out who your local MP is and how to contact them here: https://www.parliament.uk/get-involved/contact-an-mp-or-lord/contact-your-mp/
