Reduce petrol prices

Rejected 15 signatures

What the petition asks

I want the government to reduce tax on fuel and help drive the petrol providers to reduce the cost of what we pay
In january 2021 I was paying £1.04 a litre the price has dramatically increase to £1.60, ridiculous! The government reduced it by 5p a litre and went to £1.55 but it has again increased to £1.66 more than what it was when you made any reduction it now costs Me almost 20% of my salary just to get to work and considering all the recent price hikes I might not be able to afford to go to work

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise. The Government isn't responsible for setting the price of fuel. This is a matter for suppliers.
