What the petition asks
Changing the 170 section of the traffic act of 1988 and adding cats onto the list of Animals hit in an RTA that drivers must notify police/vets etc and help ASAP helping save that Cats life
I believe this is the only way to achieve this change, the law on having cats chipped is a lot different they have to be chipped now, so finding owners is an easy thing some go weeks or months not knowing their beloved cat has been killed also the cats that have to pass a long slow painful death because of this law not changing for over 20yrs it’s inhumane Felines need a voice as well and I wish to provide it and this is the best way of starting
Why it was rejected
There was already a petition about this issue. Duplicates are rejected so signatures collect in one place.
You may wish to sign this petition which calls for the same action: Make it a legal requirement for drivers to stop & report collisions with cats
