We want legislation to make GP's return to pre pandemic service

Rejected 9 signatures

What the petition asks

GP's aren't seeing patients. They will only speak to you on the telephone and even then you have to wait weeks for a call. This in turn is causing more people to go to A & E departments.
Not being able to see the GP is causing great distress for some people and it's a basic right.
The Pandemic has been a perfect excuse to change the system which may suit the surgery but it doesn't help the patient.
Life threatening conditions are being missed or misdiagnosed because you can't tell what is wrong over the telephone

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

We can only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.

There are no Government restrictions that prevent GPs from holding face-to-face appointments. Decisions relating to GP appointments, including decisions on whether face-to-face appointments are appropriate, are operational matters for the NHS and individual GPs, not the UK Government or Parliament.
