Require all fuel station providers to report their prices online
Rejected
10 signatures
What the petition asks
Mandate that all fuel station providers report via an accessible website the price of petrol, diesel, and all other fuels at each service station. Further, these should be centralised onto a government website, so all prices can be compared.
Given the current cost crisis, it is unreasonable to expect motorists to visit a range of stations to find an affordable source of fuel. While most people previously knew the most affordable station near them, this has been upended by the record high prices that the country is currently seeing. Urgent action is needed.
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
The decision to advertise petrol prices would be for individual petrol stations, not the UK Government or Parliament.
There are already some petrol price maps online created by different people and organisations which you may wish to look at.
