What the petition asks
We call on the UK Government to endorse and implement the steps outlined in the Plant Based Treaty. This should include expanding plant-based options on school and hospital menus to 50% by 2025.
A new green, plant-based food strategy can help to combat the climate crisis, improve peoples’ health, and end the exploitation of animals.
In September 2021, 20 MPs called on the Plant Based Treaty to be debated in Parliament in Early Day Motion 434.
On June 13, the Prime Minister launched the UK's food strategy following a 2021 National Food Strategy review. The strategy aims to increase demand for seafood and venison. We feel that fishing is horrendously damaging for our oceans, and animal agriculture is a major contributor to the climate crisis.
